Brief Answer:
You need to upload your ECG recording for a direct review.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I understand your concern and agree with you about the importance of being able to register the heart rhythm while experiencing those unpleasant palpitations.

It is not infrequent that arrhythmic events responsible for heart palpitations are difficult to be identified because they occur quite rare and so a more prolonged ECG monitoring regimen is required. In such cases a more appropriate strategy would be utilization of a loop recorder or event recorder.

I would be glad to review your ECG Holter recording and give my professional opinion!

Could you upload the data recordings here on HCM in order to directly review them?

I remain at your disposal for further discussions.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Dr Iliri - Thank your for your answer. I have recorded 10 hours with the HCM and I've uploaded a few screen captures on this web site. Where you able to see them? I'll try to upload a few printout in pdf, but the whole raw data file is 900MB and I'm not sure you'd have the software to anaylize it. It's using a Contec TLC500 HCM. If you are familiar with dropbox, I've out here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/153166/32356+50100q76h31da?dl=0 the whole data & file

I've uploaded as well a PDF of 10 min after I put the HCM, when I was feeling the most unconfortable

I added a directory "FullyInstalled" in the dropbox folder. This is likely what you want. No need to install anything, it's a Windows application and my data are available, just need to go "File", "OpenOldCase"

Brief Answer:
I couldn't read from Dropbox.

Detailed Answer:

Hello again,

I tried to open several times your Dropbox link but it is not executable from my computer. Something went wrong. I couldn't find "File", "OpenOldCase".

Please could you try to make some photos of the ECG strips during those unpleasant palpitations moments and upload them directly on HCM?

I am waiting for your uploads!

Regards,

Dr. Iliri

Here is a direct link to the folder: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2323566995662i/AACtK3xLBKMeWQn-CtHoscHRa?dl=0. You should copy everything there under a folder of your choice on your computer and launch the application from there. I will add some screenshot in a few minutes. I've added a lot using the upload option of this site but it does not seem to work.
I've also added 2 screenshots here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/265663222227/AAD1J7UKEqUNprecXAX0Kykya?dl=0

Opinion as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

I carefully passed through all the ECG strips you have uploaded on Dropbox and would like to explain that during those registrations the normal sinus rhythm has been the only persistent cardiac rhythm.

There have been some artifacts that the ECG program has considered as arrhythmic event but in fact are due to body movements, electric interference (so called noises), so nothing that could explain your palpitations. There was not even a single atrial extrasystole.

So, nothing abnormal could be concluded by those Holter registrations.

In such case, it is advisable to undergo a more prolonged heart rhythm monitoring such as with Loop recorder or event recorder.

In addition, I would like to explain that those unpleasant palpitations could be also due to other health disorders as well, such as anemia, thyroid dysfunction, blood electrolytes imbalance, etc.

In this regard, I recommend performing some additional medical tests, like:

- complete blood count,
- thyroid hormones level,
- blood electrolytes level,
- fasting blood glucose level,

You should discuss with your attending doctor on the above mentioned issues.

I remain at your disposal for any further discussions.

Hoping you are having a pleasant weekend!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Thank you for the explanation. I already did thyroid & fasting glucose level check as well as a general blood check, nothing was abnormal. One thing I've noticed is that almost everytime I have these "events" of very extrasystols, I feel at the same time a sort of "pulsative sensation" in the middle left abdomen, as if something here was triggering the abnormal heartbeat (like a connection). I know this sounds strange/ridiculous, but these symptoms are difficult to describe

Brief Answer:
My opinion as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

As all your tests have shown nothing abnormal, I think your symptoms could be related to anxiety or irritable bowel syndrome. Sometimes abdominal distension from the gas or bowel movements can mimic a similar clinical scenario.

But, I do not think that your symptoms are indicative of any serious medical disorder, including the heart.

So, just relax and do not worry about it!

If the problem persists, a Loop monitoring would be the test of choice to totally exclude any cardiac disorder and to reassure you that nothing wrong is going on.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Let me know about everything!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
