What Does The Following LFT Test Result Indicate?

Question: Hello Doctor,
I am 54 years old. My LFT is as follows:
SGPT = 107
SGOT = 78
GGT = 45
Albumin = 4.16
What do those numbers mean? Thank you.

High SGPT may indicate liver injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Findings suggests raised SGPT.
SGOT is non specific and it increases in many conditions.GGT and albumin level is within normal limit.

High SGPT may indicate liver injury.It may be due to many reasons like hepatitis,alcohol intake,altered lipid profile,medicines,auto immune causes etc.

You may need few investigations like routine hemogram,random blood sugar,lipid profile,ultrasound of abdomen.
I suggest tablet ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months to my patients.It helps in regeneration of liver cells.
You may need to take few more medicines after full investigations..
