What Does The Following Bilirubin Report Suggest?

Question: I was blessed with baby girl 3 days ago today her s bilirubin report is attached so please suggest
Brief Answer:
Birth weight please, nothing alarming
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us
All newborn babies do get some amount of physiological jaundice due to immaturity of liver.
BUt this usually decreases after 4 days
For a term 3 kg baby at 3 days of age, this level is acceptable, no need for phototherapy.
But if your baby is preterm or low birth weight, it may come in phototherapy range.
Let me know if your baby was term or preterm ( more than 37 weeks is full term )
and birth weight
Ensure continuous breastfeeding which will help in settling

DR Arun
