Question: My mother operated for Brain tumor Meningioma which was grown on the right side of the skull and eye nerve. (operated on 9th XXXXXXX 2017 at XXXXXXX Bhatheja hospital, XXXXXXX ). They removed partially and biopsy report says it is atypical of the type-II grade. After the operation, she is totally bed ridden and one-time seizures also attacked. Now she is not having control on right side of the body and very less slurred speech. Only Liquid food only can be given as swallow power reduced and laid down with Urine catheter. We are medicating with Eptoin 100mg -1-0-2, Encorate Chrono 500mg 1-1-1, Levipil 1-1-1, We had consulted the same Docter he suggested above medicine based on the EEG and repeated MRI reports. Still, she is having jerk type Myoclonic seizures and improvement is zero after crossing three months. Brief Answer:
Can you upload her recent MRI brain and EEG reports?

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and I would try my best to help you.

I have noted your mother's clinical details. Based on this, the cause of seizures are most likely due to residual brain tumor, as well as any scar due to surgery. Please attach the recent MRI brain and EEG reports.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Brief Answer:
MRI reports show bleeding in the right side of brain.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back with MRI and EEG reports.

MRI reports dated 22nd February show bleeding in the right side of brain. The bleeding most likely resulted from surgery. EEG reports show that epileptic discharges are also coming from that region.

However, these reports can not explain her weakness of right side of body (bleeding on the right side of brain should cause weakness of left side). So, it is possible that there is another problem such as stroke affecting left side of brain. Since about 50 days have passed after the last brain scan, it would be useful to repeat a brain MRI to understand the current status.

Best wishes,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
