Brief Answer:
You shouldn't be concerned.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

A tiny white spot found on MRI, usually is a incidental finding, most probably related to microvascular changes.

These microvascular changes may be due to high blood pressure, age-related and in rare cases Vasculitis.

However the question is: why did you had the brain MRI done, what are your symptoms?

In my opinion, you shouldn't worry about that tiny white spot found on MRI.

Hope this helps. I remain at your disposal for further questions and clarifications.

Take care.

Thank you, Dr!
The MRI of my brain and MRA of the intracranial circulation were ordered by my neurologist because I had piercing pain in my left ear, TMJ, and Headache.

Although the neurologist stated that the results were negative re: the above, he did mention "a white spot" in the white matter and would send the report to my internist.
I became alarmed because I have been on klonopin for 15 yrs, having suffered through PTSD in the latter part of my divorce and a contentious 4 yr diverse . I 'be been told by a friend or two that I "slur my words" .. Something startllng and disconcerting for a former teacher, and docent at the NJ state house and financial planner.
I am not an " addict" ... Reassured recently by two well respected addiction specialists in manhattan. I am worried however, that there could be a link between the adverse effects of the drug and my brain . I'm boluntarily tapering off the drug under doctor's care, but wondering if permanent damage has been done.

Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Slurred speech probably side effect of Klonopin use.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back XXXXXXX

Thanks for the clarifications.

Episodes of slurred speech are more probably related to Klonopin as one of possible side effects of that drug use.

The reasons that conducted your Neurologist to order MR studies has nothing to do with that tiny white spot found on MRI.

It is difficult to say that was Klonopin that caused this tiny spot, even if so, in my opinion, that white spot means nothing clinically.

Hope I helped you. Best regards.
