Brief Answer:
not serious condition

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

According to your report your condition is not serious. You have small haemorrhoids(piles) and a fissure(crack in mucosa). These may be treated with stool softners and sphincter relaxation by sitz bath and local ointment.

Unsatisfactory preparation means that your bowel was not empty. Bowel is prepared for colonoscopy by giving enema and solutions to make it empty so that on colonoscopy everything is seen properly. In your case since bowel contained stool the scope is passed only 1/3 rd of colon. Whole colon is not visualised.

I suggest you to discus with your doctor if he is suspecting any problem above this 1/3rd which is visualised then you may need to undergo one more colonoscopy. If he suspect problem within this 1/3rd which is visualised then no serious problem in it. You may take treatment for piles and fissure.

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.

Hi

Thanks for the answer. Could you tell me how to empty the bowel completely? I took Peglec before the day colonoscopy was done but forgot to take dulcoflex at night. Could that have been the reason that the bowel wasn't completely empty?

Brief Answer:
you should had taken dulcolex

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Yes you should had taken dulcolex. That is the reason for incomplete bowel preparation.

Bowel preparation includes peglec(most important ) with dulcolex in night and also 2 days before procedure you need to take liquid diet. In night around minimum 4 to 5 times you should pass stool and also the last should be watery not hard . It indicates bowel is empty.

If so many times stool is not passed then you may take stool softner like cremaffin in night in addition to above. You may feel giddiness so drink water with glucose inbetween.

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.

I did a bit of search in the internet and found transverse colon, hepatic flexure, ascending colon and cecum are the areas that were not observed during the colonoscopy. I'm not sure if my doc would suggest me to have another colonoscopy. Could you please tell me what type of symptoms I would have if there's anything wrong in the said areas?

Brief Answer:
colonoscopy include them

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Colonoscopy involves vision of anus, rectum, sigmoid , descending , transverse ,and ascending colon and caecum, splenic and hepatic flexure. Caecum is end of colon. Till then is visualised in colonoscopy.

If bowel is not empty then blindly scope is not passed .

Following symptoms you may anticipate if you have problem in non visualised areas
-bleeding per rectum I.e blood mixed with stool not fresh blood
-abdominal pain
-loose stools with mucus
-abdominal bulge
-weight loss
-anemia without other reason
-low grade fever etc.

Not necessary all symptoms should happen. It mainly depend upon symptoms and examination.

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.
