enclosing my lipid profile report done recently. seems my non-hdl and ldl is not as desired . Do I need to start any medication . i am 36 year male and daily do 15-20 min exercise.

1. Please provide your height, weight and your usual blood pressure (in numbers).
2. Do you take any medication for high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease or stroke? Have you ever been diagnosed with high blood pressure or diabetes or heart disease or stroke?
3. Do you smoke?
4. What is your current life style including the type and amount of daily exercise and your usual diet pattern?

hi.
1) my height is 5'8" , weight is 71.5 Kg and blood pressure is 125/85.
2) No i don't take any medication and neither diagnosed with blood pressure or diabetes.
3) No idont smoke
4) I wake up at 5:30 am and sleeps at 11 pm. in the morning do 30 min exercise (5 days in a week). Diet includes normal XXXXXXX food like roti , vegetables and dal. breakfast I do at 8:45 am . lunch around 1:30 pm and dinner at 9 pm. in between take 1 fruit and snacks.

1. Your HDL level is 43mg% which is more than the cut-off of 40mg%. It is good to have more HDL cholesterol rather than lesser values. Hence there is nothing it worry. In fact it may further go up if you increase your daily exercise or you consume fish regularly if you are a non-vegetarian.
2. The LDL levels of 155 mg% is on Higher side and need to be monitored. However as per current recommendations, this lipid profile along with other factors does not require medication. The ACC risk score and Qrisk Score for this kind of profile are very much acceptable. A life style modification is warranted. Try to devote more time to exercise with a goal of 45 minutes of brisk walk per day or equivalent exercise. Try to avoid oily and fried items. Avoid excess of sweets, cold drinks and desserts. Lipid profile should be repeated after 3 months of these modifications.
