Brief Answer:
Such level is not bad, but needs hematologist consult and diagnostic.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Platelet count 80 is sufficient to keep proper blood coagulation. So this is not life threatening. But you should no ignore it either. Low platelet count can be a symptom of many different conditions such as: bone narrow diseases (including lymphoma or leukemia), infections (viral mostly), autoimmune diseases, enlarged spleen, liver diseases. Such platelets level can be also caused by some medicines, alcohol abuse, B12 deficiency, folic acid deficiency and many more.

The low platelets level needs advanced diagnostics. I suggest you to consult hematologist with this issue.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
