Can I Skip One Dose Of Metropolol Tablet And Drink Alcohol?

Hi i take 1 pill, 25MG of Metorpolol every night because i have a fast and occasional irregular heartbeat and i know i should not mix it with alcohol. I also know i should not stop taking the medicine, but if i were to skip a dose one night, and drink, would this cause serious problems?

Hi,

Skipping a pill of Metoprolol can be risky as it can precipitate arrhythmia and that can eventually lead to arrest. Also, you haven't mentioned the exact cause of irregular heartbeats. Alcohol itself can cause irregular heart beats. I would like to suggest you to avoid the same.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
