What Does The Following Semen Analysis Indicate?
Question: I am 29 years old married, undergone a semen analysis twice now. The following results below was taken six months back:
Volume : 2.0 ml
Colour : Pearly White
Reaction : Alkaline
Viscocity : Viscous
Liquefaction time : 30 Minutes
Sperm Count. : 61 Millions/ml
Active Motile : 65%
Sluggish Motile : 15%
Non motile : 25%
MORPHOLOGY
Normal forms : 70%
Abnormal forms : 30%
Pus Cells : 8-10/HPF
Epithelial Cells : 2-3/HPF
RBC : Nil
The following below is the recently take one:
Volume : 3.0 ml
Colour : Greyish White
Reaction / pH : 8.0
Viscocity : Viscid, Opaque
Liquefaction time : 10 Minutes
Sperm Count. : 60 Millions/ml
Agglutination : Absent Absent
Progressive Motility : 20%
Non Progressive Motility : 10%
Non motile : 70%
MORPHOLOGY
Normal forms : 40%
Abnormal forms : 60%
Pus Cells : 18-20/HPF
Epithelial Cells : 2-4/HPF
Spermatogenic Cells : Nil
RBC : Nil
I am unable to understand the decrease in the Motility and Morphology. Also what could be the reason for increase in pus cell. I would highly apperciate what are the measures to be taken to get every thing back to normal. Thanks & Regards.

Brief Answer:
Semen infection is causing problem
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I read your query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:
1) There is infection in your semen which is leading to decrease in motility and mprphology.
2) You can see there are many pus cells ( 18-20 / HPF) which are leading to decreased motility and morphology.
3) Infection is also leading to increased viscosity.
4) Please get semen culture and sensitivity test done to know type organism infecting your semen. You can get antibiotics prescribed as per semen culture and sensitivity report.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.
