What Does The Following Semen Test Result Indicate?

Question: Hello doctor,
I have recently got semen test done and results are as given below:
Vol-2 ml
Liqfctn time-20 min
Reaction-acidic (7.4)
Motility immediate-80%
Morphology normal-80%
Pus cell-05-10/hpf
Epithelial cell-2-5/hpf

Pls tell me about this. We have been trying since 4 months but negative result till date. Pls help.

Your semen analysis report you have typed is incomplete. Sperm concentration is not mentioned.Regarding motility immediate motility in general is mentioned , with out progressive motility.
I suggest you to send a picture of the semen analysis report to help you better.

But the motility is not mentioned in detail.

I suggest you to get it done from a reputed lab and send the reports again. Minimum 3 days abstinence has to be there.

According to your report it seems to be normal except for motility as it is not described in detail.

Hello doctor
We are planning for a child since last 5 months but not able to conceive. Previously my wife was regular in her periods with 28 days cycle. In jan2016 we decided to have a baby. In feb her periods were late by 7 days. In march her periods were early by 5 days. In april her periods were on time. In may16 her period did not came at all but PT was -ve. We consulted a doctor and she advised for ultrasound and other tests like hb%, urine r/e etc. All reports have been attached. An ovarian cyst was detected. She was on medication for several days. Finally her periods came on 22 XXXXXXX and ended on 24th. Consequently we had another tests like vdrl test, semen analysis, reports are being attached. Please review the reports and medications and suggest what to be done for making her conceive. I want to add here that for the last 2 days we have been testing her ovulation through OTK but reports are negative.

As I mentioned earlier your semen analysis has to be repeated.
You have not enclosed the scan report.
is she having polycystic ovarian syndrome.?
we need to rule out any hormonal issues causing delay in her periods.
If her cycles are not regular then she may not ovulate properly.
so consult a infertility specialist and get thyroid profile ,prolactin estimation and take medications to regularise the cycle.
With proper medicines it can be corrected.not to worry.

The details of cyst was not mentioned .
It could be a simple follicular cyst.
Am sorry , could not follow the hand righting in the prescription .I suggest you to consult an infertility specialist and get it evaluated further.
