Question: I am 49 years old. Due to some pain feeling at my lower abdomen a few days back I had got an USG
where the radiologist suggested his observations as follows :

1. Bulky Uterus With Heterogenous Myometrium
2. Bulky & Irregular Cervix

Myometrium ehcotexture is heterogeneous.
No focal lesion is seen. Midline endometrial echo is not shifted.
Endometrium thickness is 8.4mm
Cervix is bulky & irregular
Uterus measures - 104.0 mm X 61.1 mm X 43.0 mm

I have skipped my menstrual period scheduled on 15.01.2015

Pls suggest what may happen

Brief Answer:
Peri menopause

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
With regard to your age 49, its possible that you are peri-menopausal. In that case, you may get irregular menses and eventually achieve menopause after few months.
You may skip your menses and they can become irregular. However, with regard to the USG report, your uterine size is enlarged and the cervix is bulky/irregular. Both are pathological and may indicate problems.

Normally, the uterus becoming enlarged or bulky may be associated with peri-menopause and once achieved the uterus becomes atrophied. But a bulky cervix should be examined. You should undergo a pelvic exam to look for any pathology on the cervix as well as get a PAP smear test to rule out infections/ulcers etc.

Right now, i don't think you need to worry about your menses. If you have heavy bleeding etc then surgery or hormone treatment may be required.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely

Detailed Answer:
hello, due to the bulky uterus you may get some chronic pelvic pain but unlikely to get naval pain. keep watch if the naval pain radiates or shifts to the back to lower down. keep watch for any associated nausea or fever. if you are overweight then there is a chance of hernia.
