Question: Impression in the Ultrasound report says that "Prominent Endometrium with Minimal Free Fluid In Cavity" what does it mean?

Prominent Endometrium with minimal free fluid in the cavity can be due to various causes like:
1. Endometrial changes after abortion or delivery
2. Endometrial hyperplasia
3. Rarely, endometrial cancer, which is a diagnosis in postmenopausal female.
The cause depends upon the history, symptoms and age of the patient.

Hi dear,
I have reviewed the report.
The endometrial thickness is more ( more than 4 mm) which is abnormal in a 69 year old female.
Endometrial biopsy should be done to rule out any carcinoma.
Moreover, a cyst is present in the left ovary.This should be further investigated by Doppler ultrasound and MRI, if required, to rule out any ovarian cancer.
