Brief Answer:
There can be strain to patellar tendon due sports.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us,

I have read your MRI report and seen clinical photo with diligence.

There can be strain to patellar tendon due sports.
Vigorous sports activity and straining may lead to patellar tendon inflammation.
Infra patellar bursitis may lead to pain.

I will advise you infra patellar bursa aspiration and local steroid injection shot.

Till time you can continue use compressive bandage.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and TENS will help in early healing along with this continues strengthening exercises.

Medicine like Trypsin chymotrypsin will help to reduce swelling.

Blood investigation like RA factor, ACCP, ESR, complete blood count, HLA B27 may help to rule out any monoarticular disease.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
