What Does The Survival Rate In A Hypereosinophilic Syndrome Patient Depend On?

Prognosis and management of HES
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic
The survival rate of Hypereosinophilic syndrome is 80% survival at 5 years and a 42% survival at 15 years, which means that 80% and 42% people affected survive after 5 and 15 years respectively.
The prognosis greatly depends on the response to treatment, gene mutation associated, blast/leukemic changes and the extent to which other organs like heart gets affected.
First-line treatment is with glucocorticoids, followed by interferon, Imatinib, and chemotherapeutic agents. In nonresponsive cases stem cell transplantation can also be tried.
She would also need regular follow-up to monitor heart function and pulmonary function.
Please be advised to follow up with a Hematologist for further evaluation and management.
Hope this answers your question
