Brief Answer:
Thyroid scan is used to examine the structure and function of the thyroid.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Hypothyroidism treatment generally requires life long medication of thyroxine hormone i.e. Tab.Eltroxin
Normal thyroid value is 0.4 to 4.0 mIU/L.
You can withhold the throxine treatment till the value of TSH comes between 2 to 3 mIU/L
If it has gone below from the normal value then there will be requirement of dose titration by your treating doctor.
It would be better if you can upload the thyroid scan report to have a better view regarding further treatment.
Thanks and Regards,

Sir
The value range as shown in report is 0.7 to 6.4 and now it has come down to 0.64 I.e. below starting range. Hence should we stop administering eltroxin 25.
If the value comes down and t3 t4 is within range should it be expected for life long medication

Hi XXXXXXX
Normal values range from 0.4 - 4.0 mIU/L but it may vary slightly among different laboratories because they use different measurements or test different samples.
In your case,if it has come down below normal then you must withhold thyroxine for couple of weeks according to your treating doctor's advise and get tested again after that for complete thyroid profile.
Your child is required dose titration so that his TSH value could be kept in desirable range i.e. between 2 to 3 mIU/L.
As I said earlier, hypothyroidism generally requires life long medication of thyroxine hormone i.e. Tab.Eltroxin despite having normal T3 and T4 levels.

Brief Answer:
Diet has some role.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for follow-up query.
Apart from medication, dietary intervention can also be useful.
Reduce or eliminate dietary sugar including refined carbohydrates and increase protein and fat intake in which protein increases transport of thyroid hormone to all your tissues and fat like ghee or olive oil contains high cholesterol which is actually a root for hormonal pathways like thyroxine hormone.
Vitamin D3,iron and omega-3 fatty acids(fish, walnuts) supplements are also useful in the treatment of Hypothyroidism.
If you are taking correct doses of thyroid medications and your TSH value remains between desirable range then one can not make a difference among normal healthy individuals.
As far as he allopathy treatment is concerned, thyroid can be controlled and can not be cured completely thereby individual requires life long medications.
However,it can be prevented among high risk population by adding iodine to commonly used foods and by promoting the consumption of iodine-rich foods such as dairy products and fish.
Exercises can be done to loose or control your body weight.
