default
Posted on Tue, 20 Jan 2015
Question: Hi back I'm 37 yrs old.. in May I was having some abdominal pains, doc did ultrasound and transvaginal and it read : Uterus measures 8cm in lenght , 3.5cm in AP and 6.7 in transverse dimension...uterus shows abnormal texture with evidence of multiple focal solid nodules, suggestive of fibroid uterus. And one 13mmx11mm cyst on the right adnexa , they advised on diet and I felt no more pain until now, and now i have pain for 9 days ,with leg and lower back pain, GYN did a pelvic exam today and said my uterus was enlarged, and also recommended a repeated ultrasound.
I am concerned.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to increase in size of fibroids.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The enlargement of the uterus is likely to be due to fibroids. These are benign lesions. These can grow in size in these 6-7 months. The small cyst in the right adnexa that was detected earlier is likely to be a physiological cyst.
Getting an ultrasound will help in assessment regarding the increase in size of fibroids. There is no need to worry. Do as your gynecologist has suggested.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
