What Does This CT Scan Report Post Radiotherapy Indicate?
Question: Diagnosis T1N3 stage 3b adenocarcinoma of lung, primary left lower lobe. Has had chemo and radio therapy.
Most recent CT scan report states - new pulmonary nodules in the right lung with post radiation changes including collapse of the medial aspect of the left upper and lower lobes. Interval increase in size of left perihilar mass with multiple new nodular pulmonary densities on the right suggestive of metastatic disease. Sclerotic bone lesion at the C5, C7 and T1 levels not seen on previous imaging, likely new metastatic change.
The patient has severe COPD. Can you break down what this report is stating and what it means?

Are you able to give a prognosis on life expectancy for people with this condition? We have been previously advised that chemo and radiation are not options as she became very ill after the initial chemo/radiation regime. I would say she would have a functional status of PS3

1. I have worked in a cancer research center. With this CT finding a patient can survive till 2 years if general health is PS 2. In PS 3 the survival can stretch for a year. Every patient is different and survival depends on physical health and will power. I wish your patient a long survival.
