I have asked for a blood test for AIDS(HIV Antibody), under the request of the Embassy... simply ...and now am confused ...
Brief Answer:
HIV positive is different from AIDS
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If you have just HIV antibody positive (probably done by ELISA method), you confirm with another test called Western Blot method which is more specific. Embassy generally wants a screening test. But to label a HIV positive you need specific confirmatory test by Western Blot method. So approach a near lab for this test.
You should not be afraid of HIV positivity. If the HIV positivity has symptoms along with immune suppression, the last stage is called AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome).
