She is having interstitial lung disease (ILD).
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your mother's situation and problem.
Her HRCT thorax report suggest intestinal lung disease (ILD). And in ILD possibility of early IPF (idiopathic Pulmonary fibrosis) is more.
It is idiopathic (cause is unknown) in nature. It affects interstitium of lung. It causes thickening and fibrosis of interstitial septa. And hence gas exchange is affected. So patient feels shortness of breath after exertion.
Please let me know
1. What are her symptoms?
2. Has she undergone PFT (Pulmonary Function Test)?

Connective tissue disease have been ruled out or not.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the drug list. She is taking HCQ. It is usually given in connective tissue disease (CTD).
So are the doctors suspecting CTD?
Has she undergone serum ANA or RA factor?
The HRCT report you have written is how many days old?
And I am a bit confused. She is improving with the treatment. And HRCT report is before the treatment or after the treatment.
At present what are her main symptoms?

I can understand your concern.
Thanks for the details. Now things are clear for me.
Sorry to say but neither the chest x ray nor prescription is seen in attachments.
I have received all your images and I have gone through them as well.
She is having normal chest x ray and not having symptoms, so no need to worry much.
She might be having NSIP (non specific interstitial pneumonitis) type of ILD.
Pirfinex is having perfinodone. It is only US FDA approved drug for reversal of lung fibrosis. And in your mother's case, this drug has done th same. Steroids are also important in reversal of fibrosis.
So no need to worry for her now. She is having normal chest x ray.
Was she not advised about PFT (Pulmonary Function Test)?

Gas trouble and breathlessness are connected.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Health Care Magic.
Gas trouble is connected with breathlessness.
Chronic gas trouble is mostly due to GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). It causes reflux of acid into the esophagus. So chances of micro aspiration into the lungs is high.
This causes chronic irritation and inflammation in lungs. This may be the reason for her breathlessness.
So she need treatment for GERD.
Please let me know
1. Is she having burning epigastric pain?
