What Does This LFT Report Indicate?

My Bilirubin total result is 1.5 mg/dL
And my SGPT/ALT is 49 U/L
Are my results any cause for concern ?
Medically , is my Liver okay ?
What can I do to improve my readings ?
By the way , I have been on the cholesterol lowering drug atorvastatin 40mg for 14 months already .
Is this statin the cause of my high readings ?
If so , should I continue consuming this drug ?
Thanks in advance
Detailed answer.....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
As far as your bilirubin levels are concerned, although it appears to be just marginally high,i would count it as normal since you don't have any particular symptoms of jaundice like loss of appetite or vomiting or pain abdomen, fatigue etc. moreover your other liver function tests are also normal, except slightly high level of SGPT.
However this slightly high SGPT can be found in people taking statins for longtime.
In nutshell, you seem to be fine, your liver all right and nothing to worry, however just get your LFT repeated after 4-6 weeks to see if there is any change in bilirubin levels.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query,
Best of luck
Thanks
