Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query
I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Primarily you are having acute disc prolapse at cervical spine at two levels C5-C6 and C6-C7. Primary treatment of this is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. If pain is more then tramadol can be taken. Mecobalamin is helpful in recovery. You have specially asked for external treatment so rest ( to neck) is most important treatment. For rest to neck soft cervical collar may be applied. Massage is not advisable. Local analgesic ointment are not of much use.
You can discuss with your doctor about it.
Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.

You will be okay once acute phase is over.

Hi there.
Welcome back to HCM.
Generally once episode of pain is over which may last for 15 days to one and half month you are likely to be Ok. After acute pain episode is over, you will be benefitted by neck exercises .
