What Does This MRI Report Indicate?
Question: Dr. my son is 11 years old he has been getting epilepsy fits since the last eight years, and they are un controlled he has never had a major fit he gets myopic jerks and stiffens his arms around 5 to 7 times in a day. we had done an MRI and the report goes as follows "Diffuse prominance of bilateral cerebral hemispheric cortical convexity sulci more so in the frontopartieal region with the mild diffuse prominence of the cerebellar folia."
Can you please guide me what this means and is there any treatment for the same.

Uncontrolled seizure in childhood occurs most commonly due to neonatal or perinatal brain insult.
Some seizures develop in early childhood.
The treatment varies according to diagnosis but the drugs are almost same.
In most cases the seizures get controlled on one or two medication but more drug and higher dose may be required in some cases like epilepsy syndrome XXXXXXX gastaut syndrome.
The MRI is showing brain atrophy involving many areas.
The treatment is right and it may require different combinations and doses for optimal control.
