Teenager Has Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Autism. Safe For Him To Drink Mountain Dew?
Hi, Thank you for posting your query. There is no clear cut data regarding the safety of mountain dew in a child with epilepsy. However, a little bit of it should not be a cause of concern. I would suggest he avoid drinking a lot of mountain dew. Also, it is important to eat food on time and avoid fasting. Adequate sleep of 7-8 hours per night is also useful in preventing seizure relapses. Best wishes, Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology) Senior Consultant Neurologist Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad
