Brief Answer:
Can be due to edema or decreased vascularity.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The hyperintense bone marrow in proximal fibula can happen due to local swelling- edema, decreased vascularity or a physiological variation. It can be due to an abnormal growth or a bone marrow lesion in case it is progressive. It si best to get a repeat MRI scan done after 3 months for a comparison and to assess its progress.
I hope this answers your query.
