Brief Answer:
VDRL

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

The VDRL tests is done for Syphilis and reflects quantitation of serum antibody directed against a cardiolipin-lecithin-cholesterol antigen complex and it is Non-treponemal (non-specific ) test.
The titer reflects disease activity, rising during the evolution of early syphilis, often exceeding 1:32 in secondary syphilis, and declining thereafter without therapy.
Your VDRL reactive 1:4 indicates either current syphilis or past syphilis untreated.

However VDRL can be False-Positive . Among patients being screened for syphilis because of risk factors, clinical suspicion, or history of exposure, ∼1% of reactive
tests are falsely positive.

Hence one should undergo Treponemmal (specific) antibody tests like Treponemal enzyme or chemiluminescence immunoassays (EIAs/CIAs) or fluorescent treponemal antibody–absorbed (FTA-ABS) test or T. pallidum particle agglutination (TPPA) test to confirm syphilis.

Brief Answer:
VDRL & treatment of syphilis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Itch mark in penis is unlikely to be any syphilitic lesion.
Lesion on penis accompanied by inguinal lymph node enlargement is more suggestive of primary syphilitic lesion (chancre).
Syphilis is curable.Penicillin G is the drug of choice for all stages of syphilis.Other antibiotics effective in syphilis include the tetracyclines and the cephalosporins.
Your doctor will advise accordingly.
