What Does This X-ray Report Indicate?

Question: Hello

This is XXXX l am speaking for my father in Law. He is about 80 years age. He was very active but since a month he started complaining of lower back pain. The pain is not while he sleeps or sit. But when he stands for a while. We got a Xray done which suggested probable slip disk. I am attaching the report, can u suggest me the severity of it . And whether any traction is immediately necessary

Hello,
I have studied your case. Your father in law is having lumbar spondylitis. This condition is common in this area and there is no role of any traction. I have following suggestions for you.
1.Hot water fomentation.
2.back muscle strengthening exercises.
3.Tablet calcium 1000 mg daily and vitamin D 60000 unit per week. Also injection teriparatide one daily for three months.
4.If pain is severe then he can take tablet Etovo MR one daily .
