What Does This X-ray Report Indicate?
What does that mean??
- prominent hilar/ perihilar vascular shadows seen both lungs.
- cardiac silhouette appears normal
- tracheal air column appears normal
- both CP angles & domes of diaphragm are unremarkable
- normal osseous components of the thoracic cage.
OPINION: findings favor bronchitis
Please suggest, what does that mean and what should I do next??
My doctor said nothing serious, but how can I get rid of hilar shadows??
Please provide all relevant information and how to cure.
FYI- I use to smoke but currently m not smoking from last 10 days.
Swelling of your air passage
Detailed Answer:
Hello, thank you for posting your question on Health Care Magic.
Prominent hilar marking on X-ray means bronchitis. This means the passage through which air reaches your lungs is swollen or inflammed .
There could be many reasons ranging from smoking, allergy to infection .
Be rest assured it can be cured. It is very good that you have stopped smoking which is one of the most important trigger.
Inhalers like Salbutamol and Corticosteroids can be used to treat.
If you have any fever associated with your symptoms, antibiotics have to be used.
Expectorants also help a great deal.
Regarding your immigration test, after seven days of treatment the hilar markings will not likely to be so prominent. Hence, it should not be a problem
Hope you get better soon
Best wishes
