Brief Answer:
Angioplasty= angiography+ stenting

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query. I think I may be able to help you.

I think you have been misinformed.
I agree from your query that you do have a cardiac issue. The next line would be to get a coronary angiography. This will be able to confirm the echocardiography finding.
Once the angiography shows a significant block, angioplasty may be done.

The 2 are usually done in the same sitting. If findings are present in angiography, Doctor can proceed to angioplasty. And in angioplasty, if the Doctor sees that stenting is not needed, he may not proceed making the procedure an angiography.

In short,
Angioplasty= Angiography+ stenting

I have tried to make it as simple as possible.
I hope that the information helps you to make a decision.
Best of luck.
Dr Mittal.
