Brief Answer:
Its an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and can be treated.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and Thanks for your question.
I am a Vascular Surgeon and we deal with such cases on a daily basis.
The patient in question has a large Aneurysm of the main artery of the abdomen. The only risk in this case is that the aneurysm can rupture and then he would die in a few minutes. In earlier days we used to open the abdomen and perform major surgery for this problem. For the past many years now we perform this procedure without opening the abdomen and put stent grafts within the Aorta approaching from both the groin areas with minimal risk to the patient. The only hitch is his age. He is quite old to get the procedure done. If he is otherwise and does not have many diseases, he can easily undergo the procedure and I can help you along all the way.
Therefore, do let me know if he has any other diseases and what all medicines is he on. Most important would be abnormalities of the heart, lungs and kidneys.
Do let me know so I can advice you more in detail.
Also let me know whether he is walking around and able to do his normal daily chores himself. He will require a CT Angiography to plan the procedure in detail.
Take care and I would wait for your reply.
