Tuberculosis is curable permanently, provided there is no drug resistance.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
1. Your mother is suffering from Abdominal tuberculosis (Retroperitoneal tuberculous lymphadenitis).
Treatment is anti-tubercular treatment ,generally given for 9-12 months for extra-pulmonary TB.
2. There are no diet restriction currently; but it is important that she takes good nutritious diet.
3. Retroperitoneal tuberculous lymphadenitis is deep seated and it is not contagious, unless she has also pulmonary tuberculosis(TB) of open category (sputum for AFB +ve). You can discuss with her treating doctor to know her status.
4. Side effects of medicines depend on which anti-tuberculous drugs have been prescribed for your mother. Let me know what medicine is prescribed to her.
5. Tuberculosis is curable permanently, provided there is no drug resistance. Her treating doctor must know about this too.
You are welcome to forward your queries to HCM .

Thanks for the reply
How we will get to know that she has pulmonary tuberculosis(TB) of open category (sputum for AFB +ve).
In report it is mentioned that she has Retroperitoneal tuberculous lymphadenitis.
We will be meeting our Doctor tommorow as we have just got the reports.
I will let u know about the medicines given to her.
In between we are planning to shift from XXXXXXX to XXXXXXX Is it possible for my mother to shift from one place to another in a new environment or not?
Iam attaching the reports ..please have a look.
Thanks
Again
Extra-pulmonary tuberculosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Most probably your mother is not having pulmonary tuberculosis ;otherwise ,x-ray chest,HRCT chest would have shown this.
Open case can be detected by sputum examination for AFB (Acid fast bacillus)for consecutive 03 days.
Shifting a patient from XXXXXXX to XXXXXXX should not pose any problem, as the distance is short and she has no other co-morbidities (not mentioned any time).
New environment or sanatorium treatment is no longer practiced as there are very effective anti-tubercular drugs and the disease is completely curable in majority of the cases.

Anti-tubercular drugs
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Your mother has been given standard first line anti-tubercular drugs.
Major side effects of anti-tuberculous drugs are :
Rcinex(combination of Rifampicin & Isonex)
Rifampicin:
HEPA: Asymptomatic elevations of liver enzymes and hepatitis
Isonex:
CNS: Peripheral neuropathy;HEPA: Hepatotoxicity, including elevated serum transaminase levels
Ethambutol(Combutol):
Optic neuritis,Loss of colour vision .
Pyrazinamide(PZA)
HEPA: Hepatotoxicity. META: Gout; Arthralgia and myalgia.
However the side effects are uncommon and the drugs are mostly well tolerated
Pyridoxine administration: Prophylactic concomitant administration of pyridoxine (6 to 50 mg/day) is recommended to prevent isonex induced peripheral neuropathy. Cap A-Z contains only 3 mg Vit B6 i.e Pyridoxine .
