Brief Answer:
Flu treatment

Detailed Answer:
good evening

Well reports are not too alarming. But I would like. to know her symptoms for which medicine has been prescribed...

The safest medicine is to take paracetamol... Incase the need for stronger anti inflammatory arises, the drug of choice In breast feeding mothers is ipubrufen.. it is short acting. lasts for 4 hours and she can take it after feeding the baby

But let me know her symptoms and will let u know if the drug is needed or not

Brief Answer:
Viral Fever

Detailed Answer:
good evening

Well, it does look like an infection only. Probably started as Viral and which went away, but the recurrent fever does seem like a bacterial infection has superimposed on it.. The CRP and ESR levels are quite high, which does go against the Viral infection...

I would suggest she start a course of antibiotics as well...Paracetemol/Piroxicam are only for symptom relief, not for the cure of the flu..Maximum you can wait for a couple of days, but since you say fever is persisting antibiotics would be needed...

As for her, safest is Brufen 400 mg to be taken after feeding. it wont harm the baby as the effect wears off within 4 hours

hope the information was useful

Brief Answer:
Antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
GOod evening

Well, the safest for her will be Augmentin Duo twice daily, provided she has no allergy to any other medicines before. But I would still suggest, you get an opinion from your GP as he can physically examine the patient before starting the medicine

Answered by Dr. Naval Mendiratta (8 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Throat inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Good evening

Well throat infection doesnt last more than 2-3 days.. If it is still persisting you should get checked from inside, if anything else can be there. Also do some gargles with warm water to help lower the inflammation... moreoever antibiotics you should start if it is still persisting

Do let me know for more queries

Brief Answer:
Ibuprofen dose

Detailed Answer:
Good evening

Well, there has to be something wrong if the throat inflammation is going on for 2 weeks... Ibuprofen is helpful in relieving the pain and inflammation but not treating the cause for it.

For that, if it is not improving, ask the ENT if a swab from the throat will be helpful in determining which is the bacteria causing it...? So you can take adequate treatment for it...

But dont worry about side effects. You were on a very minimum dose( MAximum permitted dose is 2400 mg) and short period. These sort of doses are not harmful ...Obviously if you keep taking then we have to expect more side effects

But your throat thing needs to be sorted out
