What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

viral illness, contaminated urine specimen?
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I understand that you had no symptoms. The monocytes count is only marginally elevated. There are too many causes of monocytosis but for similar elevations the most likely cause is a recent viral infection. The most likely cause of having many epithelial cells and bacteria in the urine is a contaminated specimen. A good urine sample requires that the patient washes the genitalia with water and/or soap (no antibacterial products) and provide the mid-stream specimen. It's important to avoid getting the urine into contact with the skin (foreskin in men or the labia in women). You should repeat the tests after a month or so.
