Your levels are normal but that does not mean you can conceive
Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope i can help you today.
Infertility can have many causes, and unfortunately the tests you had cannot on their own determine why you have been having trouble getting pregnant.
What these tests basically show are that you have normal uterus and ovaries, and that you are not perimenopausal.
Unfotunately, these tests do not check to see if your Fallopian tubes are open, or if you ovulate, or if your partner had any issues (as infertility can have a male factor in 50 percent of the time). These tests need to be completed in order to have a full evaluation of your ability to become pregnant.
However, in the majority of infertile couples, no abnormal tests are found, which is called unexplained infertility.
In your case, you have two risk factors for infertility, your high BMI and your age. Both may mean that you do not ovulate regularly, which is possible even with normal hormone levels.
So it is good that the preliminary testing you had was normal, however there are many more tests that can determine if there is any treatment that can help you get pregnant. Your partner should get a semen analysis and I would recommend consulting with a fertility specialist as when you are over 40 your chances of getting pregnant decrease rapidly.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I would recommend working aggressively on weight loss
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Even though you may see follicles developing on an ultrasound, that does not necessarily mean you ovulate consistently with good quality eggs. But if you do, then your weight may be the major factor in your inability to conceive. Body fat produces estrogen and also can make insulin levels rise, which can also interfere with proper timing of ovulation relative to your cervical mucus and uterine lining.
It is true that fertility medications can be risky for morbidly obese women because estrogen can cause a risk of blood clots, heart attacks and strokes, as well as having a high chance of high blood pressure and diabetes during pregnancy.
But actively trying to lose weight is the only thing you can do yourself that can increase your chances of conceiving. Losing as little as 20 percent of your body weight can make healthy ovulation resume in a high percentage of women.
So I cannot comment on your chances of conceiving at this point, however weight loss is a way you can actively increase your potential fertility, and give you options for treatment.
I hope this additional information is helpful.

Dr. Brown
