Question: Dear Doctor,

I would like to take your advise and suggestions here. I'm attaching my CBC results since 2008. Please note, from the attached reports, it shows that my platelet count is always below the minimum expected level. In 2015 XXXXXXX when I was admitted to hospital for treatment of Hepatitis A, the count went down as low as 15K. When I recovered the count was back at 1.2L. During discharge doctor suspected ITP since my Mom and Uncle also face similar problems but both of them had never undergone bone marrow test but doctors suggest that it's ITP. I would like to know

1. Looking at my history, do you think this is ITP?
2. Will it affect my work life? I've never faced any issues so far because of reduced platelet count.
3. Do I need to take any medication to improve platelet? Or I shouldn't be bothered?
4. Can we improve platelet count by following any specific diet?

Looking forward for your valuable suggestions.

Thanks a lot.

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. It may be itp

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details. So you have a normal and in between reduced platelet counts many times. It may be related to itp. That can only bw confirmed after ruling out other conditions which can. Lower your platelets like
Hepatitis c
Hiv infection
Folate deficiency.
If the platelet counts are above 70000, then there is no worry. Which is actually in your case. You can live normal life. Treatment is required only if counts fall below 50000 or in case of bleeding.
So no need to worry. There is no diet which can increase platelet counts.

Thanks and regards
