When i was a kid one day i eated much fava beans and i got bad with anemia. the doctors said to my parents to avoid fava bens because i am a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficitary. I want to know what should i care of?
Brief Answer:
fava beans, moth balls, aspirin, etc
Detailed Answer:
There are more than 200 variants so different preventive measures may apply for each case but a general rule is to avoid (or be cautious with) fava beans, moth balls, aspirin, antimalarial drugs, certain antibiotics (like ciprofloxacin, nalidixic acid, etc), vitamin K analogues, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), etc.
You'd better avoid using any drug without asking your doctor first.
Kind Regards!
