Question: After having severe symptoms of fatigue, nausea and getting 5.5 am cortisol and 9.5 am ACTH , my endocrinologist ordered the short ACTH stimulation test, looking for a possible secondary insufficiency .
Could you please look at the following values and give me your opinion if there is something concerning?
8:30 Am cortisol 11.0
9:00 am 24.7
9:30 am 18.0
My sodium was 134 , T4 1.4, Potassium 4.3, and Calcium 9.9
Thank you very much !

Brief Answer:
The stimulation test results normal;
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone carefully through your concern.
Increase in cortisol after stimulation by ACTH is normal. Cortisol level after ACTH stimulation should be higher than 18 to 20 micrograms per deciliter (mcg/dL).
Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different laboratories.
The morning value is within the normal ranges ( 10-20 mcg/dl).
Would you please attach the results of your laboratory to confirm that the values are within the normal ranges?
Will be a pleasure to help you further.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
