What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

Question: Hi there, I had a blood test recently - nine months after a crazy c-section that kept me in the hospital for a week. My liver enzymes were: ALK 119, AST 34, ALT 52.

From what I have read on many online sources, these are within the normal range, but maybe on the high end of normal.

However, my lab uses different reference values for the normal range, so my doctor is asking if I want to do an ultrasound, etc., etc.

I feel healthy but also want to be safe. Where is a good source to look for liver test ranges?

As per your query,
To have any clinical significance enzymes of liver should be elevated atleast three times the normal value.
I have seen your reports and your enzymes levels are almost normal and has no clinical significance.
These enzymes are usually produced by liver cells and a part of it diffuses into blood stream.
As most of the antibiotics etc are metabolised by liver Post cesarian section permeability of liver cells increases mildly causing increase in diffusion of liver enzymes level in blood.
So don't worry this will return back to normal in few weeks.

Less then 3 times normal elevation of lft has no clinical sognificance.
