What Does This Chest X-ray Finding Indicate?
Question: I just had a chest X-ray as part of my respirator mask assessment/clearance. In the findings summary, it states, "Lungs are essentially clear. Questionable tiny granuloma verses blood vessel on end in the right lower lung field." What does this mean and should I be worried about it?
Brief Answer:
No need to worry for this.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion, you should not worry much for this x ray finding.
Chest x ray is taken in posteroanterior direction.
So blood vessels running perpendicular to this plane, gives appearance of tiny dots.
If blood vessel is some what large then it gives larger dot. And this can give false belief of granuloma.
So, if you are not having any symptoms then no need to worry for this.
But if you really want to know what it is then go for CT thorax.
Otherwise no need to worry for this x ray finding.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
