Brief Answer:
Doctor's advice correct, details below..

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Health Care Magic forum. Thanks for writing in to is with your health query.

There are two channels to bring blood back to heart from lower limbs , one superficial and another deep venous system. In your case both the system are involved that is incompetent to hold blood and propel forward.

That is why your Doctor has given you the right advice that nothing surgical can be done as if the perforator ligation or EVLA ( endocascular Laser ablation) is done for superficial varicose veins then deep venous system will collapse and cause thrombosis .

The option for him is to wear stockings or crape bandages which will negate the gravitational effect and help to propel blood upwards.

Ask your doctor to give anti thrombotic prophylaxis.

I hope I have helped you to clear your doubts. if you have any more doubts then feel free to write.

Regards
Dr Manisha Jain.

Brief Answer:
Stockings help to relieve symptoms and prevent complications.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.Thanks writing in dear.

I completely understand your anxiety related to the condition.

Surgery is the option to completely cure this condition only when deep venous system is normal, but in your case it is involved too, compression stockings will help in relieving symptoms and hemosiderosis and DVT caused by stagnant blood in veins.

It is actually a preventive measure so that the complications do not develop due to blood stasis and helps to maintain normal circulation of blood.

To prevent DVT , ask your doctor to prescribe antithrombotic treatment which can be easily monitored.

I wish you all the best .

Regards
Dr Manisha Jain.
