Brief Answer:
Your son doesn't need another surgery after few months

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read all your examinations and data you provided.

Based on those data I would like to say as follows:
- Your son had been diagnosed with membranous ventricular septal defects and has done open heart surgery on march 2017.
- Based on the cardiac echo done two months after surgery the ventricular septal patch is intact and no other holes in his heart are present. The only abnormalities that still persist, are as follows:
MIld to moderate Mitral regurgitation (which have been present in the pre-surgery echo)
Mild Pulmonary Hypertension (which has been severe before surgery)
- All these findings are to be expected two months after surgery and you shouldn't worry for the moment. Your son doesn't need surgery after few months (even after few years, based on the data you provided).
- The only thing he should do is a regular follow up with blood test, chest x ray and cardiac echo every 6 months.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you and your family health!
Dr. Shehu
