What Does This Lab Report Indicate?
1) What are the chances of near-full recovery?
2) What are the precautions/prescriptions towards near-full recovery? How much time should near-full recover take?
3) Not sure what was the cause of the stroke? Looks to be stress related. Any comments?
Recovery is likely to be partial and would take long time.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and I would try my best to help you.
I have noted your uncle's clinical details. Based on this, he has suffered from stroke of left side of brain. This would result in paralysis of right side of body and impairment of speech.
There would be slow recovery over time, however, full recovery is not possible.
Recovery takes about 3-6 months, and in some cases, it can take upto two years.
Physiotherapy and speech therapy should be regularly done to ensure faster recovery.
Common causes of stroke are diabetes, high BP, high cholesterol and high homocysteine. Blood tests can be done to detect these. Stress can also contribute to stroke.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Neurology) XXXXXXX Consultant Neurologist
