What Does This Pap Smear Test Result Indicate?
Question: Hello - I have recently done a Pap Smear as part of some routine checks and attached is the report I got for my mother. Can you please advise what does this mean and what else is needed?
Brief Answer:
normal report
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is good to see the routine testing done as a health check up and care.
The report attached is normal and thus nothing to worry.
It will be good to repeat it every year till three normal smears.
In case you have any questions about it, I will be glad to answer.
Regards
Dr Manisha

Hello doctor - thanks so much for the prompt response. I was concerned about the below statements:
Inflammatory smear.
Repeat smear after treatment.
What specific treatment is required? Is any further test required at all? Just want to be sure. Please let me know.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
No need of any treatment
Detailed Answer:
Inflammatory smear is common after menopause and also in patients who have discharge per vaginum due to infection.
But your mother has no symptoms and is probably menopausal so nothing to worry.
In case she has discharge from vagina or itching in perineal region then visit a gynecologist for examination and treatment if needed.
Take care.
