What Does This Pelvis Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Right ovary 35* 17 * 29 mm (vol 9.4cc)
Left ovary 48* 17* 33 mm (vol 14.8cc)
Bilateral multiple small peripherally arranged follicles with central echogenic stroma noted..
Wat does this mean.. Do i have any problem in my ovaries....
it might be PCOD
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
In my opinion the peripheral arrangement of follicles in ovary might suggest PCOD(polycystic ovarian disease).
But the PCOD is diagnosed basing on 3 following criteria like:-
1)Absence of periods or irregular periods.
2)Features of hirtsutism like any excess facial hair growth.
3)Ultrasound diagnosis of PCOD.
So I would like to know the following for better suggestions:-
1)Your height and weight.
2)How are your cycles?
3)Any excess facial hair growth?
4)Are you married and trying for pregnancy?
5)Why was the ultrasound done?
6)Any hormonal evaluation like LH and FSH done?
Kindly provide me the information.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Best regards..Dr.srilatha

Thanks for your reply...
PFB my answers for your questions-
1. My height is 5.5 ft & weight is 54 Kg.
2. My periodic cycles are regular but i have severe pain, giddiness, Fatigue & Vomiting during my 1st day of periods.
3. No excess hair growth.
4. Im single now & getting married on December.
5. The ultrasound was done to identify the cause of severe pain during my periods. Previously i wont have much pain during my periods but for the past 6 months the pain is severe with giddiness & vomiting.
6. No hormonal tests are done.
The doctor who im consulting now told that i have polycystic ovaries (Based on the Pelvis ultrasound report) but since i have regular periods there is no need to worry about the cysts now..
She prescribed to use "Spasmo choice" tablet for pain relief & suggested healthy diet & exercises.
But im worried as this may affect or cause trouble in conceiving.
Can you please tell me if my ovaries are normal & i dont have to worry about the cysts...
Regards,
XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for the information.I understand your concern.
In my opinion the pcod is usually diagnosed basing on 3 criteria but you have regular cycles and no signs of hirsutism. So just it is an ultrasound diagnosis.
Dont worry.Follow the healthy nutritional diet and exercises daily.
Painful periods, giddiness on 1 st day might be a condition called spasmodic dysmenorrhea. It will subside spontaneously usually after first child birth.
The main problem in pcod is absence of ovulation leading to irregular cycles and infertility. So as long as your cycles are regular there might be no problem for conception. The hormonal evaluation of LH and FSH might be helpful to rule out any abnormality consistent with pcod.In pcod LH and FSH ratio is altered
So discuss regarding that with your doctor.
And its good that you are not overweight.
Avoid stress if any and continue with spasmo choice tablets.
Nothing to worry about the ovarian cysts. If necessary you can repeat the ultrasound after 6 months and see the status.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss further.
