Brief Answer:
Your findings may suggest urinary tract infection(UTI).

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Your findings may suggest urinary tract infection(UTI).Your condition need clinical correlation and culture/sensitivity of urine.
Up to 5 pus cells are normally found in urine, but it is important to exclude UTI due to presence of few pus cells with occasional RBC in urine.
Trace amount of protein is normally found in urine.

Besides proper clinical examination, you may need routine investigations.
Investigations include routine hemogram,random blood sugar,ultrasound of abdomen,urine culture/sensitivity.

Proper antibiotics should be based upon culture and sensitivity report.
Nitrite test and leukocyte esterase test can be done for confirmation of urinary tract infection.
Drink plenty of water.
I also suggests alkalyzing syrups to my patients if UTI is confirmed.

Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your question.

Thank you doctor for a swift reply. Wife is having UTI - results are as follows- (RBC - 0-1), Pus cells (25-30), but protein and blood as negative. If both are having UTI, shouldn't the results also be similar. Would be helpful if we get advice on this grounds as well.

Thank You

Brief Answer:
It shows increased severity compared to your report.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Your wife's findings suggest more pus cells which shows increased severity compared to your report.

Presence of blood is not universal in UTI.It may be associated finding in some patient.Your wife is also having occasional RBC in urine.

Trace amount of protein is normally found in urine. If protein is absent then it is a good sign.Don't worry about this.
