Visited urologist and he suggested to take the following tests: semen culture,LH and FSH , prolactin and testosterone total and Free. Will post the results once he is done with these tests too. For now he prescribed NIFTRAN for 5 days and Popson for 1 month. He asked him to stop using fertilaid for men.
Question: once the tests are done and if there is any infection , can it be treated with antibiotics?
If yes, will the motility, count and liquefaction problems get resolved?
Can we conceive naturally if the problem gets resolved ?
No issues with the female partner. All tests are normal.
Urologist suggested that we better go for IVF rather than trying naturally. Please give us XXXXXXX suggestion.
Need further evaluation .
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query and posting serial reports of semen analysis which indicate semen liquefaction time to be more than normal value of 20-30 minutes ..
Though the parameters like sperm count and sperm motility are adequate for effective fertilization are normal the failure in conception maybe due to delayed liquefaction of semen or presence of anti sperm antibodies either in semen or cervical mucus .
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Has your Gynecologist or Urologist done Post Coital Tests to detect any abnormality in cervical mucus ?
The delayed liquefaction time is one of the causes of infertility and in majority of cases is due to infection either in Seminal Vesicle or Prostate and has to be treated with appropriate antibiotic as per semen culture report .
It may help to normalize the liquefaction time and result into conception .
Go ahead and start treatment (antibiotics)after getting semen culture report and repeat semen analysis after one month .Get Post Coital Test done with the help of your Gynecologist .
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
