What Does This Syphilis Test Report Indicate?
TPHA is a test to diagnose syphilis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
thanks for posting the query
1. Syphilis causes permanent damage to the whole body depending on how long it
has infected the body.
2. Syphilis shows a few symptoms like painless ulceration at the site of entry, so it will be seen in
examination. It's a sexually transmitted disease and the infected person infects all his or her
sexual partners.
3. Syphilis germs called as TP - Trepanoma Pallidum can be killed in your body.
4. Take Benzathin Penicillin Injections (2.4 Million Units).
5. Take "Probenecid" and "Doxycycline" if necessary.
Relax. Take the injections. It will surely help you in curing it, but if specific tests are done to look for history of past syphilis infection they can be detected.
As it is sexually transmitted, but not a contageous disease. So it is not a contraindication for job. You can go ahead with the job.
Take care

It detects only antibodies- It indicates past infection/current infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks again
TPHA positive means you are having the active antibodies for syphilis. It is an Indirect test to detect antibodies formed against the bacteria. The antibodies once formed never becomes negative and they remains life long however this does not mean that you are still suffering from the disease. It is a treatable condition and after successful completion of treatment and resolution of symptoms, go for a serological test of syphilis like VDRL to detect current infection. It it comes negative , then you are not having current infection.

Then your status is negative
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Don't worry.
Your current state of infection is negative. TPHA - positive may be due to past infection.
