What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?
I'm having pain on my abdomen also I had kidney pain in both sides for a week and UTI my doctor did an Ultrasound with the results of Trace right pelviectasis measuring up to 7mm. There are no masses stones or perinephric fluid collections.
I'm still having pain and don't know the reason
Important to rule out papillary necrosis
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Pain on the both sides of the flank region with evidence of urinary tract infection suggests involvement of the kidneys, known as pyelonephritis and presence of pelviectasis could mean that there is some amount of necrosis of the kidneys. Here is how you should go about it
1. get a ct of the kidney, ureter and the bladder
2. get a renal function test one to see for the functioning of the kidney
3. Urine culture and treatment with appropriate antibiotics
The pain will take about 4-8 weeks to settle down, it is best treated with opioid group of analgesics like tramadol three times a day. Please approach your doctor for a prescription
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
