What Does This Widal Test After Having Antibiotics Indicate?
I am having fever wih value about 99.2 or 99.3 since last 2 months, I have taken medicine from 2 doctors (MD Medicine) but problem is still there. My case history is as below:-
1. I consult the 1st doctor, after widal test and value were Salmonella typhi O =1.160, Salmonella typhi H =non reactive, Salmonella paratyphi A,H = non reactive and Salmonella paratyphi B,H = non reactive.
2. After 10 days of medication I consulted another doctor (with prescription from previous doctor) and taken the medicine for another 10 days. Then again WIDAL test shows Salmonella typhi O =1.160, Salmonella typhi H = 1:20, Salmonella paratyphi A,H = non reactive and Salmonella paratyphi B,H = non reactive.
3. After taking medicine for another 20 days I get the WIDAL test done again and values are Salmonella typhi O =1.40, Salmonella typhi H = 1:20, Salmonella paratyphi A,H = 1:20 and Salmonella paratyphi B,H = 1:20.
Please suggest me if my current situation is on rising trend of declining trend and also suggest medicine for the treatment. Please revert in the grounds of humanity.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM.
See widal test is an antibody test. It is be positive in subclinical infections. Only rising titres are considered important but if clinical symptoms match.
Infact these antibodies persists for long. There are not harmful.
If you would again get a repeat widal rest you may again find it positive.
The range of temperature you are mentioning is not considered as fever specially in this hot weather.
Give me following details to help you better:
1. What problems are you having. At present forget the thermometer. Share with me your problems.
2. What all medicines you have been given by your doctors.
Revert with these details for a better help.
Stay Healthy.
