During a regular blood test, the doc said my TSH was off and he wanted to do more thorough Thyroid tests. My TSH 7.20 and my T3 total is 136. I have never had thyroid issues in the past.
I am on meloxicam for arthritis in my knee and omeprazole for acid reflux.

Hi
Detailed Answer:
Your TSH is high. Need monitoring in the future. That is not a justification for doing thyroglobulin level. It was probably unnecessary. Thyroglobulin is done in specefic situations like a) in the follow up of thyroid cancer and b) to rule out ectopic thyroid tissue etc.
Not required in routine screening. Thyroglobulin is producd by normal thyroid tissue and as long as you have native thyroid tissue, thyroglobulin will be present
However, antithyroglobulin antibody is often elevated in autoimmune hypothyroidism
